March Madness

March 1, 2006

Welcome to month three of 2006. Here's what's goin' on...

ITEM: WIDE AWAKE ON POP THOUGHT

WIDE AWAKE is now being published at POP THOUGHT as an ongoing column. While some of the content of the column will overlap with content on the SGC site, I intend to write content unique to each site whenever possible. Click HERE to visit the complete archive. Many thanks to my pal, Alex Ness, for making this happen.

ITEM: HOLY FLASHBACK!

If you haven't visited the SGC_CHADTEES merchandise shops lately, then you probably haven't seen the latest items that are presently available for purchase. The LESS THAN HEROES CLUBHOUSE now features retro shirts from the legendary Super-Hero Recruitment Expos of the 1970s.

ITEM: ALTERCATIONS UPDATE NO. 516

The magic number is three, or 24, depending on how ya look at it. Three pages (24 panels) until the principle art for ALTERCATIONS 2 is finished. All of the word boxes from issue 1 are being redone traditional comic book style balloons. I won't even guess as to when the pages will be completed, though I'm aiming for mid-March (yes, of 2006).

ITEM: SGC RETROSPECTIVE

I'm planning to self-publish a 32-page retrospective book that will detail SGC's first 10 years. This will not be distributed through Diamond and will only be available online. Details to follow.

ITEM: DEATH BY CHOCOLATE UPDATE

The latest news I've heard from TOP SHELF about the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE trade paperback is that it's on schedule for a summer 2006 release. Updates to come.

ITEM: DOWN WE GO!

The latest polls show that King George's approval rating has dropped to 36%. Vice-President and crack-shot Dick Cheney's approval rating is at 18%. Keep up the great work, fellas. We're counting on you!

ITEM: SPYING ON MYSELF

A&E's latest reality show, SPYING ON MYSELF debuted tonight. The premise was somewhat interesting. Ordinary people don disguises to air their differences with friends or family who have wronged them. The show packed less drama than a Warner Brothers cartoon. Prediction: Off the air in four weeks.

ITEM: UNNAMED GRAPHIC NOVEL UPDATE NO. 2

Layouts are nearly finished for an as-yet unnamed graphic novel of approximately 72 pages. Way too early to go into details, but the story focuses on an aging super-hero reluctantly investigating a series of bizarre murders. Details to follow.

Next: Steve Ditko
