SEPTEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS GALORE!

September 3, 2006

ITEM: SLEEPING GIANT CREATIONS GOES LIVE!

Di and I are pleased to announce a new joint venture, SLEEPING GIANT CREATIONS. Sleeping Giant Creations is an online venue to showcase new and upcoming projects Di and I are developing both independently and together. We are also offering a variety of services including writing, editing, and graphic design. The site is still in its infancy, is being fine-tuned, and will be undergoing numerous design modifications, but we're live now so be sure to check it out!

ITEM: MySpace Interview Series Off and Running

I'm currently conducting interviews with a variety of musicians, some of whom you may be familiar with, others who you've probably never of. The interviews serve a few purposes--first, I'm hoping to showcase the music of various underrated talents; second, I want to assess the impact MySpace has on influencing what we listen to. The interviews are being published at Pop Thought. To find out who was interviewed, click HERE and HERE. New interviews will be rolling out frequently, so stay tuned.

ITEM: BILL MANTLO BENEFIT BOOK UPDATE

The bulk of the text has been written and is going into editing within the next week. I've begun illustrating Bill's brilliant and moving short story, Aftermath, and have completed two of a projected eight color pages. I am awaiting replies from four or five of Bill's colleagues who shall remain nameless. Whether they respond or not is inconsequential since the book will happen either way; however, I'm hoping to hear from these folks since they worked closely with Bill in the 80s and could provide some valuable input.

ITEM: NYSS POST-NINE ELEVEN GRAPHIC NOVELIZATION

I've completed breakdowns of the first 88 pages of my adaptation of NYSS: Post-Nine Eleven (a speculative tale of super-heroes in the wake of Nine Eleven, originally serialized in 2002 in Wide Awake). These 88 pages comprise chapters 1 through 3 of the story, so I'm projecting another 40 pages for chapters 4 and 5 for a total of 128 pages. I've made a few modifications to the original script since certain scenes didn't translate well from script to sequential art, but have otherwise tried to remain faithful to the original story. More details to come.
