CAPTAIN AMERICA: KIRBY STYLE
My pal Alex Ness invited me to participate in a recent Review Club discussion of the recently published Captain America: Madbomb trade paperback. The book collects the classic 1970s storyline by Jack Kirby who both wrote and illustrated the epic. I enjoy writing about comics that influenced or inspired my own writing, and Kirby's work has certainly done both. There are plenty of voices besides mine expressed on the Review Club, so do check it out.

NEW TART INTERVIEW
Marcia Allass and Rebecca Salek, both of Sequential Tart, conducted a recent interview with me in which I addressed a few subjects, including a bit of in-depth analysis of the characters portrayed in ALTERCATIONS 1. Simply click here to read the interview in its entirety. Many thanks to Rebecca and Marcia for their insightful, thought-provoking questions.

FOUR MORE BEERS
America has spoken. And the winner and still champion is George W. Bush. What can I say? Half the nation can't be wrong, can it? Gays and lesbians need to face the facts that there's no "gay" in USA. Women will soon need to give up choice as I'm certain Roe v. Wade will be overturned in the next year or two. Our Social Security and Medicare systems will be overhauled, maybe even eliminated. Who needs 'em? And Iraq...well, we've got plenty of contractors ready and willing to continue manufacturing weapons and vehicles designed for killing, and plenty of lower-class American men and women to ship away in the name of oil, um, I mean "democracy."
Anyway, I look forward to being told how to behave, what to do and what not to do, and having further civil liberties stripped away while Son of Bush continues to redefine liberty and freedom and carve a legacy in blood. You go, boy!

BIG CHANGES...
Yup, my life is headed in a new direction. No, I'm not changing genders. But there's a lot coming up as the fall of 2004 rolls on. Stay tuned for details.
